PEOPLE AND PLACES

 PAIR WORK PROJECT (Year 7 Students):

Write about 1 city and 1 celebrity ( same nation/ nationality)
  • For example: PORTUGAL
a) » a Portuguese city - Lisbon (one A4 page)
b) » a portuguese celebrity  - Cristiano Ronaldo / Fátima Lopes... (one A4 page)


INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Present  2 A4 pages, one for each topic:  a) a city ; b) a celebrity
  • a) Get an image (picture or drawing) and write a short description of the city.
    • Writing guidelines - Use the language studied in class and in the textbook ( 60-80 words)
      • e.g. This city is in Portugal/ It is ( old/ modern/ the capital)... / It has got... /In this city you can find ... /There is a.../ There are ( lots of )... / People call this city...
  • b) Get an image (picture or drawing) and write a short description of the person
    • Writing guidelines - Use the language studied in class and in the textbook ( 60-80 words)
      • e.g. Her name is... / She is from... /She was born on ... /She is...years old / She has(not) got a.../ She is a ( fado singer) / She is very...
  • Your work should be neat and clear ( large letters, short sentences)
  • State your SOURCES: book, magazine, webpage
ORAL PRESENTATION : The 2 students speak about the person and the place.

Follow these steps: (1) choose your inventor & invention from the List ; (2) do the research and present the information on a written work - follow the Report topics; (3) pick up a picture or an item to show in class and finally (4) prepare the oral presentation.

NOTICE THE EVALUATION:
  • > written work 40% ( neat work, correct language, important information, creativity) - ex: A4 poster/ movie  
  • > oral presentation 60% ( clear communication and language, important information, creativity)
